My Bio

Greetings, fellow internet visitor. Welcome to the dA page of...me. Rodrigo, AKA CityFlyer502 on the interwebs. Or some variation of both is fine.

Coming across the brony fandom inspired me to try my hand at drawing once more. Last time I drew regularly was during middle school, so things got off to a slow start. It's still touch & go ability wise but I'm here to have some fun, hopefully bring a few smiles to whoever happens across my scribbles & probably make a friend or two along the way.

Outside of the web, I'm the bar manager for the catering operation at Carnegie Hall. A fast paced job that demands time, energy, quick thinking & multiple talents. How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Run like heck, that's how!

I'm also a musician (that is, I play a gaggle of instruments rather aimlessly), cyclist, gamer, as well as a certified pilot. Certainly explains the "flyer" portion of my user name.

I scurry out of the city every now and again on all manner of wild adventures. Whether it's a convention or just a meet (several hundred miles away), if it's a gathering that I can get to, I'm totally there.

Anything Disney/Pixar. I don't watch a lot of movies so if I stop to watch it, it's gotta be good.

Favourite TV Shows

MLP:FiM for sure. Documentaries & anything science related also gets my views.

Favourite Bands / Musical Artists

Definitely any rock & roll artists. But I also have a soft spot for classical & some of the oldies my parents listened to growing up.

Favourite Books

Piano by James Barron is one that stands out. But honestly, I should read more books.

Any Mario Bros game, Pokemon, Kerbal Space Program, Cities:Skylines

Favourite Gaming Platform

Tools of the Trade

Behind the bar, quick hands & a shaker glass. Running the bars, my work laptop. When it comes to art, my iPad Pro is my go to.

Other Interests

Playing music; I know my way around guitars, keyboards & drums. Working on computers is another. Cycling is something I've been doing more of. And other interests I can't think of right now.

Happy New Year!

Hello there! Happy new year to you all. Hope this update finds you all well. It's a new year & as they say, new chance to do something different. What am I doing different? Nothing really. Still working & not really doing much of anything else...yet. I'm not gonna go & say that this is the year that I kick my creativity back into high gear & make amazing things happen. It's something I would like to do, for sure. Can I make it happen? No reason that I can't. Work is as tough as ever though. Especially after having been promoted to bar manager. A job that now takes more of my time than ever. A whole lot of energy as well. Staying on top of bar happenings & assisting my colleagues in being able to do their jobs takes a lot out of me. But I can't just plug away at work all the time. I need to have an outlet of some kind. In doing a bunch of little sketches a little at a time, I'm hoping to just simply build up my speed & ability so I can do these little bits of creativity in the
